Art Direction and Design
The theme for this project was "connect" however it grew into something more once I started designing. After using some letterpress prints from a previous project to initially portray my idea to my tutors, I realised this direction worked better than the original organic structure I had been forming. Things grew from here and the overall design for the cover and inside spreads became a solid vision. The idea for introducing the catalogue with everyone saying hello in their language came to bring back the theme of connect and to further highlight the diversity of our course.

Using roller prints and letterpress I was able to create a visual design voice for the history of Middlesex University's Arts courses, and to really represent the character and culture of the Arts courses. The final design feels intentional yet experimental and messy which for me summarises the experience of this course.

Additionally I adapted designs from the catalogue for our showcase area at our degree show. This was a great opportunity for me to allow the designs to really stand out on the large scale platform.

After this the designs were also used for our area at the D&AD New Blood Awards.
